Meet the author

I'm Sandra, owner / operator of Murray House Vacation Home in Pouch Cove, NL. When I retired and first opened my vacation home back in 2017, I honestly didn't know much about Newfoundland other than its climate and my travel route to and from work. Sure, I knew about Signal Hill, Cabot Tower, and some other places but I did not know anything much about Newfoundland history or many of her hidden gems. I became intrigued listening to my guests talking about the places they visited and the things they saw during their time on "The Rock" and I knew that it was time for me open my eyes and explore the world around me.

I headed out with my camera to many different nature retreats and began visiting the tourist attractions that I had only known previously by name. Wow, was I amazed! I have learned so much about Newfoundland and can now share information, and photos, with my guests.

I know there is much more to learn about my lovely province and I feel excitement knowing that many more adventures await my discovery.

You may appreciate that writing a blog is new for me but my passion for my homeland, Newfoundland, runs deep, so why not sit back and listen to my tales. Hopefully it will inspire you to explore your own back yard or to take a trip to Newfoundland and see some of the things that I have seen.
