Hiking the East Coast Trail

Hike the great outdoors along Newfoundland's rugged coastline to enjoy amazing scenery, connect with nature, and leave the worries of everyday life behind. The East Coast Trail paths extend over 336 kilometers of coastal landscape and offer spectacular views of the horizon, massive cliffs, sea stacks, gulches, and so much more. During iceberg and whale season, it is an added treat to see these beautiful oceanic visitors from clifftops along the coast.

Each path has unique landmarks as well as varying distances and difficulty levels. Some paths have different points of entry and can be time and distance altered to suit preference. However, other trails have no such exit points so you need to judge accordingly. To select a trail best suited for you, I recommend that you refer to the East Coast Trail website.
